Rio Grande Russet is a high yielding, medium to late maturing selection that has a oblong to long tuber type with a medium russet and white flesh. Plants are medium to large sized and spreading with ruffled leaves. They have a high percentage of #1's and large tubers. They are reisitant to blackspot bruising. They are useful on the fresh market with a medium specific gravity (1.082). It tests very high in anti-oxidants.
