Gloria DeHerrera is the fresh market potato salesperson and brings a lot of energy and customer service to Mundorf Packing. David Radtke joined the warehouse and San Luis Hills Farm, Inc. in October 2003. David is an agronomist with 20+ years of growing experience.

Mundorf Packing was established in 1995. We package all consumer packs and cartons electronically sized in our new, clean, modern facility. We can pack poly, carton, or any mixed load you need. We are ready to provide accurate, efficient packing and loading. We are able to accommodate the changing needs of consumers, whether small or large. We store over 3/4 million cwt. of our own crop in modern temperature and humidity controlled storages and out-source to other growers in the area. We run year round, packing an annual amount of one million cwt. We have certified scales and three shipping docks for one stop service for truckers as well as a rail loading facility on site. We also ship dry and washed bulk, B-size, and mini-bags. We offer russet, reds, yellows and specialty potatoes.

High Altitude Advantage

Colorado potatoes have “Quality as High as our Mountains.” Mundorf Packing has put into effect a HACCP plan for food safety that has been audited and approved by the USDA under their GAP/GHP program. Details of our HACCP plan can be found on our internet site.

Our potato seed is produced in the San Luis Valley of Colorado - the highest alpine desert in the world, at 7600 feet above sea level. Our climate gives our potatoes a high altitude vigor. The mountains all around form a natural barrier and the cold winters eliminate or reduce some pest problems. This allows us to produce a quality product with much less pesticides than other areas. This high altitude climate also results in a more nutritious potato specifically in antioxidants, niacin, iron, foliate and some minerals.

Trace Back

Every package of potatoes packed at our facility has a lot number that can be traced back to the field it was grown in. And all field records are then available

Mundorf packing is affliated with a certified seed farm and commercial farm to supply its potatoes insuring a consistent supply and access to new varieties. The farm is also under new management for a higher quality of product to be packed.

Colorado holds a unique position, located in the west-central part of the U.S., making it accessible to all major markets in the U.S. and Mexico. Mundorf Packing’s location on the eastern edge of the San Luis Valley is one hour closer than other sheds in the valley to the eastern U.S.
