DEAR FRIENDS AND BENEFACTORS:
April/May 2002
A SHARED THOUGHT:
Looking at an infant who is days or weeks old for a good period of time one sees so many
beautiful designs! Peace, wonderment and joy will appear. Why does he/she smile? Could it be
because of an encounter with the Holy Spirit? Is there communication between the Two? One
would be led to believe that there is something beautiful happening. Only when one surrenders
him/herself to the Triune God will this joy, peace, contentment and knowledge that God
really--really does love me will surface and be realized in the person. Ask for the gifts of the Holy
Spirit in abundance. If one has joy, it will attract others to the Lord. If one is peaceful he will
transmit peace.
Something must be done and the sooner the better. So many are being lost to the "clever one of the world of Hatred". We must never forget that he is Lucifer, the most brilliant of God's Angels, who also wanted to become God. God permitted that he retain his great intelligence, power , subtleties, cunning and with only one goal-to gain your soul for his kingdom. His kingdom is one of hatred, disgusting, and where friends are not, nor kindness, love, meekness, only hatred and suffering. Is there a way in which this could be less horrifying! I wonder, not doubting the Church's teaching, because of the infinite love of God and the similar love that those in heaven will possess.
I would be thrilled to believe in a different approach where one's suffering would be terminated. Wouldn't it be a wonderful thought that those who have denied God and lived completely against His teaching would be given a way out of this unthinkable situation. What if God the Father decided that those who rejected His grace, would be given a second chance. There is nothing that God cannot do. His ways are completely different than ours, so what if He permitted them to suffer all the pains that Jesus suffered during His entire life but in particular to suffer the passion and death and then instead of a glorious resurrection and purification, be completely annihilated as if they never existed. Plausible fantasies or is this just wishful thinking?
Time with God is absolutely imperative. Only with God and this must be repeated, over and over, does life or whatever we are doing HAVE ANY VALUE at all. This is a real eye-opener if we give it serious thought frequently. Not once in a while, Big deal! People and children think we are great stuff but what does God think of us!
We must try to get our act together and keep it together. What helps me consistently is pronouncing the holy and sacred name of JESUS. The devil cannot stand this name, for this name represents the Person and he moves out screeching blasphemies. Please recall, when faced with a serious temptation. Repeat this name of JESUS six or seven times, sincerely., slowly, lovingly and I promise you that the temptation will disappear. Try it, it is a real winner!
RICK JONES
continues to work out of San Antonio, Texas as fund raiser and volunteer contact person. We will be attempting to make contact with different Charity foundations throughout the U. S. He has been laying the ground work for this difficult task which includes setting up a "operational fund" that will take effect very soon. This is desperately needed because we are just about bankrupt. We are down-sizing in every way possible, but yet with only $5000.00 in the bank, I am not worried. I have been preaching."trust always in the Lord" and then just hand loose and do your best and that is the way I live. In 26 years of continual growth in children, buildings, etc. etc. He has never failed us and He never will.
VISIT TO FR. JOHN HENLEY:
As most of you know, Fr. John after his retirement, left his beautiful state of Georgia and came to Santa Maria and gave us a tremendous boost for four years. About six months ago he arrived at the office somewhat disoriented. After visiting our very best neurologist, I decided that it was best to send him back to Georgia where he knows several very good physicians. His very good friend Dick Grutzmacher kept me well informed about his condition. I felt that I must go immediately to, Georgia and try to lift up his spirits. To make a long story short, I feel that something radically must be done as soon as possible. He wants to return here badly. I saw him as receding down hill rapidly. I am in the process of attempting to bring him back to his beloved elderly and children who love him dearly. Please pray for him.
SCHOOL YEAR ENDING SOON:
The school system in Mexico extends its year of classes until July 5th and six weeks of vacation. All of this keeps us very active with arranging for our graduates to enter preparatory and the University and the graduation ceremonies etc. We had a fine year, yet we must improve. Finding excellent teachers is more than just difficult. Yes, I pray desperately!
MY BROTHER RAY NORMAN TO VISIT JUNE 6:
Ray is quite a good PR man for our program. A day doesn't go by that he is thinking and doing something for our children and senior citizens. Everyone, especially the children are eagerly awaiting his visit. Since the last years that he has been in constant contact with our program he has regained his faith and is an outstanding practicing Catholic. God is good!
HELP US SURVIVE:
Like I mentioned to you before we are unable to pay some of our outstanding bills. I hate to ask directly for money. If you have noticed down through the years I have never asked for contributions. I merely enclosed the small envelope and if the Lord touches you, you voluntarily help. This is something along the -same line-. Would-you kindly share this letter with a relative or friend? God will bless you. Thank you! The children will love you.
Thinking of you often and praying for you in our masses and daily prayers. We remain indebted to you for so much. Love and prayer from all of us and many, many sincere thanks for your love and friendship. We love you dearly.
